The Board of Directors of the Indiana Golf Course Owners are serious about legislative action, legal matters and member concerns that affect golf course operations and the bottom line.The Indiana Golf Economy Golf 20/20, in conjunction with the Indiana Golf Course Owners Association, the Indiana Section-PGA, Indiana Golf Association, Club Managers Association of Indiana and the Golf Course Superintendents Association-Indiana Chapter, recently completed a study of the impact of golf on the Indiana Economy. The report compares Indiana's direct golf economy to other key industrys suchas medical equipment manufacturing, soybean production and dairy products. Golf is a key industry contributing to the vitality of Indiana's economy.

The risk of substantial changes in the property tax paid by golf course owners became paramount in 2008 with Indiana taxpayers bombarding their legislators and Governor Mitch Daniels with requests for property tax reform. The INGCOA Board of Directors worked diligently to encourage change, resulting in new property tax legislation for 2010 and beyond.

Daylight Savings Time In 2005, though the efforts of the President and Board of Directors, the INGCOA was instrumental in bringing awareness to the benefits of Daylight Savings Time, and in working with legislators to influence a vote for Daylight Savings Time throughout the State of Indiana.
