Indiana Golf Courses to Receive Awards
MONTICELLO, INDIANA (January 12, 2011) - The National Golf Course Owners Association has announced Indiana members being honored with awards at the Association's Annual Conference in Orlando, Florida February 6-11 2011.
Linda Rogers, President of the Indiana Golf Course Owners Association and Vice President of NGCOA, will receive the Champion Award, bestowed upon individuals or entities succeeding in working on behalf of a group of owners - locally, regionally, nationallly or internationallly, garnering a significant victory for members. Examples would be legislative or regulatory successes, the creation of an indispensable benefit for NGCOA members or a public relations breakthrough that elevates the role of golf course owners.
Rogers will receive the award as a result of her longtime commitment to the NGCOA as a board member; her participation in National Golf Day on behalf of the NGCOA; and her involvement in encouraging legislation on daylight savings time and property tax reform for the benefit of golf course owners in Indiana.
Randy and Sara Ballinger, owners of Walnut Creek Golf Course in Marion, Indiana have received the Indiana Course of the Year award and will compete with Hidden Valley Golf Course in Norco, California and Thunder Canyon Golf Course in Washoe Valley, Nevada for National Course of the Year Award. Course of the Year award is based on the owner's exceptional quality of the course, ownership and management, contribution to the community, and significant contribution to the game.
Awards will be presented at the NGCOA Celebration Dinner on February 9, 2011 at the Rosen Center Hotel in Orlando Florida. The NGCOA Annual Conference is held concurrently with the Golf Industry Show.
