Mark Your Calendar to Attend

All those working in the golf industry in Indiana are encouraged to attend The Business of Golf presentation at the Indiana State House on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 to hear leaders of the allied golf associations highlight the findings of the Indiana Golf Economic Impact Study.  Call your elected officials, state representatives and senators to tell them about this important event.  Tell them to meet you there to learn how important golf is to the Indiana economy.  Bring your staff and help support the message that golf engages Hoosiers through employment, philanthropy, environmental benefits, health, recreation and other quality of life aspects.  Your presence matters.

11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.  Lunch will be served.

2011 NGCOA CONFERENCE
A group of 17 Hoosier members represented the Indiana Chapter at the recent NGCOA Conference and Golf Industry Show in Orlando, Florida.  Enthusiastic keynote addresses and informative educational sessions brought about lively discussions during receptions and dinners.  Hot topics concerning members include third party tee time distribution, agricultural vs. golf course labeling of chemicals and fertilizers, and fair competition with municipally-owned golf courses. 

The conference concluded with the Awards Dinner with Linda Rogers, President of INGCOA and Vice President of NGCOA, receiving the Champion Award and INGCOA member Randy Ballinger receiving the Indiana Course of the Year award.

On Monday, February 28th, Mike Hughes, NGCOA CEO, sent a survey to members requesting their input on tee time resellers in the golf industry.  Course-owning members are encouraged to complete the survey as soon as possible so NGCOA can gauge members' views on this important topic facing the industry.  Click here to view the survey...

INGCOA LEAGUE ADMINISTRATION PROGRAM
If you host leagues at your course, you should check out the newly designed Indiana Golf League Administration Program.  Adopted by INGCOA in 2007, this is an easy-to-use two-man league scoring software program for owners, Pros and league administrators to manage leagues and communicate with league players.  Enter league players and subs, record scores, manage pairings, create and maintain exclusive league handicaps, and communicate easily with a league, a group of leagues, or individual players with this program.

Courses using the program report an increase in the number of leagues they are hosting, an increase in the number of league players, and increased league revenue.  Offer something they can't get at the neighboring course.   Take a closer look....
